One Greek word for 'word' is logos. It refers to a message, reason, logic, or revealed wisdom. The scriptures are what God has to say in written form. Jesus is what God has to say in living form.

What does it mean to know?
I Don't Trust Myself
I enjoy philosophy (love of wisdom). As an engineer, I appreciate the value of systems and processes. But where is the wisdom rooted? How pure is the aim?
Face to Face and Side by Side
Some interactions are face-to-face. Your attention's on me, and I'm focused on you. Other times we're side-by-side, looking at the same thing and sharing our thoughts about it.
Altogether Other
Hallowed be your name. Holy is your name. God's name is his nature and reputation. To identify as holy is to say 'I am distinct. Completely other.
Where the Lord Dwells
The Father dwells in a place untainted by sin, a place of complete beauty, goodness, truth, and love. It's a place we innately long for.
God is Near
Attention to God's with-ness would certainly form my dependency, my heart, and my behavior.
To Know God and Make Him Known
With God, we experience an eternal kind of life, and we invite others to experience that life with us. Oh, what joy!
Reality Has a Point
It's painful to kick against the pointy prod of truth.
Coming to Know
When we think about knowing in terms of relationship rather than fact-gathering, we see that all knowing is coming to know. Knowing is an open-ended journey rich with discovery.
What's in the Bowl?
During a spring trip, my wife and I purchased a glass bowl. It's colorful and handmade. When I turn the bowl upside down, nothing falls out. Does that make it empty?

We can come to the Bible to know about God, "God is love." And we can come to the Bible to know him.
