Our Father
Jesus taught us how to pray. I don't think it's a rote prayer, but training wheels for together time. It begins "Our Father." From the first word, I see I'm not praying in isolation. Even if I am alone, I come as a part of 'we come.' This is a family space, something emphasized by God's name: Father.
I am a father, but not like this father. My moods can influence my interactions. This Father is never weary, never insecure, never anxious. This Father is unending unconditional love.
